Our online courses are designed to be accessible, interactive, and user-friendly. At the heart of it is our Learning Management System (LMS), “LearnSmart”, which is designed for all levels of learners to stay on track.

With LearnSmart, you have access to engaging learning materials, options to book coaching sessions and simulated practicals and tools to monitor your study progress – putting you firmly in control of your learning journey.

What do my assessments look like?

Each unit in our courses contains 3 types of assessments to complete.

Knowledge Based Questions

Knowledge-based questions test your knowledge and understanding of the learning outcomes of each unit. Questions are typically asked within multiple choice or short answer formats.

Case Study

A case study is a written assessment that requires you to analyse and respond to an issue or scenario. In most cases, you will be given information and a description of the scenario. The purpose of a case study is to apply the concepts and theories you have gained in the learning materials.

Practical Assessments

Practical assessments require you to demonstrate and apply the skills and knowledge you’ve gained from a unit in a real-world situation. You’ll do this by completing role plays or presentations, which can be done individually with a trainer or during online classes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often do I need to study each week?

Depending on the course and the timeframe given to study, students are required to commit to a minimum of 15 hours of study per week.

How are my assessments marked?

There are no limits to how many times you can resubmit your assessment. If your trainer/assessor has marked your assessment ‘Not Yet Satisfactory’ you will be required to resubmit your answers. Your trainer/assessor will also provide you with specific feedback to the answers you will need to resubmit.

Is this course self-paced?

All online courses at TrainSmart Australia are designed to be self-guided, helping you build essential soft skills like self-discipline, self-direction, initiative, and collaboration—qualities that align with today’s workplace culture. To ensure a seamless learning experience, you’ll have easy access to your online learning portal, our team of trainers for academic assistance and other dedicated teams across Work Placement, Student Support, and IT— from the moment you start through to course completion.

Are there due dates for my assessments?

Upon enrolment, the Academic Assistance Team will provide you with recommended submission timelines to help you stay on track and complete your course within the intended time frame. You may find that you are able to complete some units faster than the guideline suggests, and some may take a little longer, depending on the unit. The recommended submission timelines support your progress and make managing your study time easier whilst also allowing for the flexibility needed to stay on track.

What kind of support will I get studying online?

You will have access to our team of trainers for academic assistance throughout your studies. Additionally, our student support team and IT experts are available to support your learning journey.
We encourage all students to take the initiative to reach out whenever they require assistance. Our teams are available during business hours to ensure you receive timely and effective responses.
