Capped Costs

No matter which course you choose, the course costs are capped at $400 or $1,200 (based on concession eligibility) per course / per calendar year.

The WA Government has appointed TrainSmart Australia as an approved provider of the Jobs and Skills WA program.

From the 1st of January, 2020, the Department of Training and Workplace Development through their Jobs and Skills WA program, have reduced the course tuition cost of over 180 priority qualifications!

*You must meet eligibility criteria to qualify. “The Student tuition fees are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Additional fees may apply such as resource fees and other fees”. This is a Western Australian government program available to WA residents.

The annual course fee cap is $400 for eligible concession holders and youth between 15 and 24 years old, and $1,200 for all other eligible students, plus the resource fee. This means that regardless of how much the course normally costs, you will not have to pay more than this set amount per course in any one calendar year. Resource fees are not included in the annual cap fee and differ per course.

Am I eligible?

You are eligible for this government subsidy if you reside in Western Australia, and meet one of the following criteria;

1.

You are an Australian Citizen

2.

You hold a sub-class 300, 309, 444, 445, 449, 461, 785, 786, 790, or 820 visa

3.

You are a partner or dependant of a holder of a temporary visa sub-class 188, 457, 482, 489, 491, or 494

4.

You hold a Bridging Visa E (subclasses 050 and 051) with a valid application for a visa sub-class 785 or 790

5.

Holders of a Bridging Visa who are eligible to work, and who made a valid application for a visa sub-class 866

Mandatory On-Campus, Face-To-Face Classes – One Day per week

Few units will be delivered online, through mandatory live remote/virtual classes

An ‘Existing Worker’ is an individual who works 20 hours or more per week for a single or multiple employer.

Job Seekers

Target Group

Mandatory On-Campus, Face-To-Face Classes – Two Days per week

Few units will be delivered online, through mandatory live remote/virtual classes

A ‘Job Seeker’ is an individual that is currently unemployed or under employed (working less than 20 hours a week with one or across multiple employers).

* Please note, you can only enrol and claim ONE Job’s and Skills WA subsidy at a time. If you are currently enrolled in another course through Job’s and Skills WA (Including Lower Fees, Local Skills AND Skills Ready), you must either complete or withdraw from that course before enrolling in a new course.

Concession eligibility

You will be eligible for the concession rate if you;

Are a person, or the dependent of a person, holding a;
- Pensioner Concession Card, OR;
- Health Care Card*, OR;
- a Repatriation Health Benefits Card issued by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs
Are a person, or the dependent of a person, in receipt of the Youth Allowance, AUSTUDY or ABSTUDY
Are a person, or the dependent of a person, in receipt of services from the following Commonwealth support or employment services programs;
- Workforce Australia, OR;
- ParentsNext

If you are aged between 15-24 years old and don’t have a valid concession card, your annual course fee will be capped at $400 per calendar year at the non-concession rate.

*In order to benefit from the concession lower rate, it is important for you to provide TrainSmart Australia with a valid health care card for the duration of your training with us. If you fail to do so, your fees will increase to the non-concession higher rate.

If your concession card expires midway in your course, it is your responsibility to obtain a new concession card from Services Australia (Centrelink) and provide the new card details at least seven (7) days prior to the expiry of the old card. If you fail to do so, your fees will increase to the non-concession higher rate.
