- Working with community partners to identify and address recreation needs
- Promotion of recreational opportunities throughout the community
- Budget planning, administration, and tracking of expenses

- Ensuring compliance with local rules and regulations related to recreation programs
- Collecting feedback from participants about programs and events.

The successful applicant will have either relevant experience working within the social sector or be degree qualified (looked upon favourably) in Leisure and Lifestyle, Psychology, Community Development or a similar discipline.
Some of the skill requirements for a successful job applicant include:
- Exceptional communication and organisational abilities;
- Proficient computer skills;
- Education in sports, recreation, fitness or physical education studies;
- Prior experience tutoring or overseeing adults.
- Current drivers licence
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates will be looked on favourably
- Experience in recreational program planning and implementation
- Excellent interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and tact
- The ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Experience working with clients who come from a disadvantaged background (highly advantageous)

How to become a ?
To become a successful Community Recreation Officer, you will have either relevant experience working within the social sector or be degree qualified (looked upon favourably) in Leisure and Lifestyle, Psychology, Community Development or a similar discipline.
