Shannon Murphy

Make-Up Trainer

After attaining her International Diploma in Makeup 10 years ago in her home country of Ireland, Shannon has always had a desire to teach the Diploma course.

That passion for education increased since her role as Events Makeup Artist and Retail Manager for the prestigious Napoleon Perdis Makeup brand.

This role took Shannon all around Australia doing what she loved, which was educating staff in all aspects of training and teaching every client how to apply makeup and helping women express their creativity and individuality.

Travelling the world from a young age and being exposed to different cultures has broadened Shannon’s mind, giving her the experience and confidence to adapt her makeup looks to a wide variety of nationalities. Her talent saw her stand out from the crowd and in 2011 she was awarded the coveted title of National Makeup Expert of the Year in her new home of Australia.

Some of her 10 year career highlights include being chosen to do makeup on tour with GHD for their world expert’s tour, makeup on Season 2 of the period TV drama The Tudors, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia 2012 fashion shows for Betty Tran and Ruth Tarvydas, and numerous WA fashion events.

Since completing her Training and Assessing course she landed her dream job teaching the Diploma of Screen and Media, which teaches students the skills involved in how to become a makeup artist for fashion, retail, bridal, special effects and much more.

She has seen numerous students graduate and go on to work in many avenues such as cosmetics retail, fashion shows and film, all while still actively working in the makeup field. Her most recent work has been published in numerous magazines and displayed in the 2017 Style Aid Exhibition gallery.

Shannon’s aim is to inspire others and delight clients, whether that be a bride, a high end label or her students. She aims to instill in others the passion she has in her chosen field and to bring fun, relevance, creativity and knowledge to an ever-changing, competitive industry.
