Francisca brings years of counselling and social work expertise, guiding students with real-world insight and a passion for making a meaningful community impact.

As a practising counsellor and dedicated community development worker, Francisca has spent her career supporting vulnerable individuals across diverse communities and therapeutic settings. Her work has focused on children and women impacted by trauma and domestic violence, crisis intervention, and mental health recovery.

With a heart for service and a commitment to lifelong learning, she has continuously upskilled throughout her professional journey. She has co-facilitated therapeutic groups, advocated for client wellbeing, and led initiatives that helped individuals experiencing homelessness rediscover meaning, rebuild confidence, and transition to independent living.

Francisca’s approach to counselling and education is grounded in empathy, resilience, and the belief in every person’s potential to grow. Inspired by John Dewey’s philosophy—“Students learn by doing”—she creates inclusive, engaging learning environments that foster critical thinking, self-awareness, and practical skill development.

Deeply committed to mentoring future counsellors, Francisca blends theory with real-world insight—drawing from years of frontline experience. Her ability to simplify complex ideas and connect authentically with students helps prepare them for meaningful, compassionate careers in the Health and Community Services Industry.

Her dedication extends beyond the classroom—she is also the author of Reflection, a book that explores healing, resilience, and the human journey.
