Roy Miller

Health and Community Services Trainer

Roy's passion for teaching shines through in his work, motivating our students to learn.

As a trainer, Roy has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of adult learners in a variety of educational settings across the world.

Early in his training career, he worked as a language trainer at various companies in Japan. After some time worked with a number of international organisations in the UK, France, India and Singapore before settling down in Australia.

In Australia, Roy has spent many years running training programs for both the public and private sector. He specialises in programs in leadership and management, presentation skills, learning to learn, stress management and time management.

Roy is a great believer in lifelong learning, and beyond the training space he is a keen member of Toastmasters International, which he finds is excellent for networking and continuously developing his leadership and communication skills.

He loves his Olympus camera, and on weekends you might see him out in nature taking photographs of birds, flowers and insects.

"What I love about training, if you like, is the creative process of it all. It allows me to think of how I can make this learning accessible to the learner, how can I make it engaging, and how can I make it stick overall? I enjoy engaging with my students this way, as it allows me to better understand what they want to gain from the course, and figure out ways I can communicate the course materials"
