Here at TrainSmart Australia, we understand that sometimes it’s not as simple as enrolling in a course, earning a qualification and becoming a professional.
Everyone has different circumstances, which can affect our ability to fund our own education and support ourselves financially through a course.
Thankfully, the Australian Federal Government and various State Governments understand this as well, which is why there is a whole host of government subsidies available – to make it easier for you to upskill and jumpstart your career.
Below you’ll find a helpful guide to the subsidies that are on offer for TrainSmart courses, with a brief summary of who is eligible for each one. Be sure to check the criteria for each one carefully, and please keep in mind that government subsidies aren’t the only resources available.
If you are passionate about immersing yourself in the make-up and beauty industry, or the allied health sector, I.T. or business and management; there are numerous flexible payment options and alternative arrangements available. Jobs & Skills WA Participation Equity Program
With the Western Australian Government looking to upskill graduates to fill exciting new roles in certain sectors, there’s never been a better time to take advantage of this skills shortage for subsidised studies!
The Jobs & Skills WA Participation Equity Program is available to anyone who meets the normal entry requirements for the chosen course (provided it’s been identified as a State priority and TrainSmart still has spots available).
Lower Fees, Local Skills
The Department of Training & Workplace Development has heavily reduced the cost of tuition for 34 qualifications that they’ve deemed to be high priority areas! These lower tuition fees are available to everyone, provided they meet normal entry prerequisites for whichever of these 34 courses they choose.
Smart & Skilled NSW
If you’re an Australian citizen or permanent resident based in NSW, and you are no longer attending school, chances are you’re eligible for the Smart & Skilled NSW subsidy. This program is a reform of the NSW Vocational Education & Training System, offering participants the opportunity to attain the skills they need in order to pursue the career of their dreams.
Smart & Skilled NSW – Skilling for Recovery
With similar eligibility requirements* to the standard Smart & Skilled NSW subsidy, the Skilling for Recovery program is purpose-designed to get the NSW workforce back on its feet following the COVID-19 pandemic. This means participants can get qualified in a vast array of courses at absolutely no cost – become a professional FOR FREE!
*There are a few additional requirements to meet for eligibility under this subsidy
